There are many books to teach you how to alter your dog’s behaviour, but very few, if any, to tell us how animals alter human behaviour!
Dogs, in particular, are creatures of love, working with humans to remind them who they are. Dogs can’t use human language, so they use their bodies and their actions to demonstrate areas in which humans can become more whole. A dog might, for example, mirror his owner’s illnesses. He might take the illness off his human companion and transmute it. He might act out his owner’s emotions. All of this is so that we might be motivated to help them, leading to a motivation to help ourselves. Behind all of this, our dogs want us to know that we are more beautiful than we can possibly know.
The Animals’ Agenda is a revolutionary book from Catherine O’Driscoll that illustrates how humans, with their advanced cerebral cortex, get caught in programmed patterns of behaviour that are unhelpful and even destructive to their lives.
Animals operate mostly from their heart-centres – they don’t get stuck in the mind traps that humans do. As such, animals have helped humans to find peace since the beginning of time.

Praise for The Animals' Agenda
A book I zipped through the first time but well worth second and third read. As a pet/ animal owner you can seek advice from as many professionals as you like but we know our own animals best and guidelines are provided on where the owner can start. This book gives guidance and advice on how to understand, give and receive the best from pets. NO blame attached but it provides a reason why our pets mirror us and the bits we don't like to see.....how to sort it. As one example why one dog prefers restriction than perceiving a fence as a challenge they must accomplish. Having adopted some of the pertinent points to my own dogs I am already seeing a difference. It addresses professional and amateur communicators, we can work in conjunction for overall benefits. This is a brilliant book, so clear, so helpful, so caring. It covers so much to help so many people. It explains things so well - why we are like we are - and offers so many ways of helping ourselves - loving yourself being the core thing. Catherine is an amazing and caring person which shines through in this book. The input from the animals is awesome and so true. I know my animals are trying to help me and now I can see more clearly how they are trying to do it. There is a section on Emotional Freedom Technique for humans and animals. I believe we can all benefit from reading this book. V Standen This is a very informative book that every dog owner should read. It takes a look at dog health from a total fresh view point and should be read with an open mind. AP Hunt |
The Animals’ Agenda comes in three parts.
Part One: Looks at human pain and dysfunctionality, offering those ‘aha’ moments to explain why we humans are like we are. Why do so many of us lack self confidence? Why do some people believe they are superior to others? Why do some of us look after other people but rarely have time for ourselves? Why do some of us allow others to control us, and why do others need to control the people around them? If you have difficulty understanding yourself or others, this book will shine a light into the darkness.
Part Two: The dogs are aware of these self-defeating patterns of human behaviour, and really do work to help us reprogram our thinking. Catherine O’Driscoll gives real life examples of working with animals who seek to help their humans There’s the dog who asks her owner to let the past go; a dog who acts out his owner’s feelings of self-disgust arising from childhood abuse; the dog who fails at agility to prompt his owner to heal her own fear of making mistakes – and many more examples to demonstrate that the animals really are our teachers.
Part Three: Emotional Freedom Technique is a tool that can transform your life. By tapping specific points on the body while naming a problem you have, you can free yourself from phobias, fears, traumas, feelings of unworthiness, and many more emotional limitations. EFT can also directly alleviate many physical illnesses, such as back pain, migraine, hayfever … the list is endless, as they say. In addition, Catherine shows us how we can use EFT for the animals, and how the relationship between human and animal can be improved using this technique.
This book is powerful. It will help you to live in peace, and enjoy the journey that is life.
